The fifth Monday of the month is open house night at 1929 Studios, where we welcome you in to dance, chat, snack, watch films, and hang out. All for free, and open to everyone.

This month is a special 5th Monday, as we celebrate the first block at the new Northcote class, and we celebrate a changing of the guard in Prahran.
What does that last one mean? Both Eric and Ramona are off on parental leave in November, and Miya and Josh will be subbing in for this final course block of the year. So much party!

You can look forward to two hours of power with these experienced teachers. What will they be teaching? Lindy hop! And probably bits of solo jazz, because jazz and lindy hop go together like Kathryn Kelly and a jam circle.

AN AFTERNOON OF SOLID JAZZ DANCING WITH RAMONA STAFFELD.

If you've been enjoying Mix It Up With Miya and Intro to Solo Jazz on Sundays, you'll relish this chance to go hard on the essentials of historic jazz dance with Ramona.

Ramona Staffield has been teaching and dancing lindy hop and jazz since she was a teenager, working (and teaching!) with Frankie Manning and Chazz Young, and learning with many other elders. She asks her students to develop good, solid technique, but also to take time to enjoy their bodies in motion, and the company of other dancers.

This session will work you hard, but give you a moment of happiness in your busy week.

IF YOU REALLY LOVE LINDY HOP…

…and want to connect with your community during this special month, this one's for you!

This is a one hour workshop which works like a group private, where we explore things you can work on and take home to practise. There will be personalised feedback, some sweet tunes and lots of good ol' lindy hop dancing! This is an open level workshop so newer or experienced dancers are welcome.

Miya and Eric are wonderful teachers. Their clarity, knowledge, and fun will spark your dancing!

This class follows all COVID-19 rules and regulations as outlined by the DHHS website. We encourage masks, but if you have flu like symptoms, or someone close to you does, please stay home. ALL students and teachers must be fully vaccinated (status will be checked upon arrival.)
