LGBTQIA+ POLICY

We want you to feel, safe, welcome, and loved at our events. Jazz is for everyone. And we're looking forward to seeing you!

You are welcome.

We want lesbian, gay, bi, trans, enby, queer dancers of all stripes to feel welcome at 1929 Studios.

  1. We want you to feel welcome

  2. We want you to express who you are

  3. We encourage kindness-first

  4. We have your back

  5. We love to laugh and enjoy each others’ company

  6. We want you to dance.

What does that mean?

  1. We don’t use gendered language in class

  2. We make an effort to get pronouns right

  3. Wear what you like (we recommend shoes :D )

  4. We don’t tolerate homophobic or transphobic talk, jokes, or behaviour in class, at parties, or online

  5. You don’t have to change partners

  6. Dance as you’d like: lead, follow, solo
